Green Ohio?

Has anybody researched how much a processing plant for ethanol actually costs to get up and running? We don’t have alternative fuel sources right now, but need to work towards it.

With the big stink over NAFTA and Ohio, it occurs to me that we have a lot of processing plants for oil. We have large companies that fund these. These companies are Exxon, Conoco, Citgo, ect.

We have this problem with relying on other countries that we don’t always play nice with for oil.

I have been told Ohio can grow corn. Even if they couldn’t, it has been told to me that we can use our used fast food oil for processing.

We are America, the land of innovators. Why not make a new business? A new industry. Only, this one can’t be outsourced, only borrowed in idea. If states like Ohio could deregulate enough to be attractive to business, then they would be attractive for companies.

In the future, I am going to be finding research and reporting on it, to become part of the move towards alternative fuel sources. Any information from anywhere is appreciated.

Prayers for healing are answered by medical care

In this AP story, we learn that an 11-year-old girl died of untreated diabetes, because her parents believed that she could be healed solely through prayer.

The following seems sadly relevant.

“I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5)

A devout Christian heard an urgent news report on his radio that a flash flood was within minutes of entering the peaceful valley where he lived. Immediately he went to his knees and prayed for safety. The words were still on his lips when he became aware that water was gushing under his door. He retreated to the second floor and finally onto the roof of his house.

While he sat on the roof, a helicopter flew by and the pilot asked over the loudspeaker if they could lift him off. “It’s not necessary since I have the Lord’s protection,” he replied.

Moments later the house began to break up and he found himself clinging to a tree. A police boat, braving the waters, approached him for rescue, but he assured them that the Lord would save him. Finally, the tree gave way and the man went to his death.

Standing before the Lord, he asked, “Lord, I am glad to be here, but why didn’t You answer my prayer for safety?”

The Lord responded, “Son, I told you over the radio to get out of there. Then I sent you a helicopter and a motor boat! What more do you want from me?”

India outsourcing to Ohio

In the latest news, the article Ohio Outsourcing reports the recent trend of Indian companies outsourcing innovation to the United States. This is the latest example of less innovative jobs such as manufacturing and computer programming moving to developing economies like India and China, whereas more innovative jobs are concentrated in developed economies.

biggest ever cosmic explosion

Yesterday, NASA’s Swift satellite detected the biggest gamma ray burst ever. It happened 7.5 billion years ago, and it took that long to cover the distance to reach us. Unlike the 20 years for a certain Democratic senator to be clued in, this delay was due to the speed of light and the laws of physics.
