Today’s Cato Institute article Fighting for Our Right to Bear Arms outlines the case currently before the Supreme Court. A Washington DC resident is challenging the district’s ban on all functional firearms for self-defense. We may not see a decision until May. It is expected that a decision on this matter will either affirm an individual’s right to bear arms or the Second Amendment will effectively be expunged from the US Constitution.
All indications are that the court will uphold the appeals court ruling that the DC gun ban is unconstitutional.
