Government Waste 2007

On Aug 27, The Council for Citizens Against Government Waste (CCAGW) released its 2007 Congressional Ratings.

Here are some highlights:

House Republicans averaged 60 percent, up 14 percentage points from their grade of 46 percent in 2006; House Democrats averaged 5 percent, down 4 percentage points from their 9 percent score in 2006.

Senate Republicans averaged 67 percent; Senate Democrats averaged 5 percent.

A higher score is better in terms of voting against government waste.

Bailout Contaminated with Pork

In Bailout Blues, David Warren writes “I am further appalled by the spectacle of the Democrats in the U.S. Congress, exploiting the emergency to affix massive quantities of poorly disguised pork to the blunderbuss bill.”

Should he be voted into the Presidency, John McCain has promised to veto such bills and shed light on the names of the politicians, who have earmarked pork.

I would like to know what are these pork items that have been added to the bailout bill?

Give us their names.
