The Dog Ate Global Warming

The Cato Institute article The Dog Ate Global Warming is pretty enlightening regarding the unscientific basis of that underlies the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) conclusions on global warming.

global cooling since 1998

Finally, a San Francisco Chronicle article When the Warmest in History Isn’t reveals the truth about the climate change insanity that has dominated the news.

What motivates this movement to panic over climate change?

They wish to establish some pseudo-scientific basis to justify restraining economic growth. They do not believe it is fair that capitalism has empowered the most productive nations to live in prosperity and abundance, while the least productive nations wallow in self-made misery. Rather than promote the virtues of capitalism to raise the standard of living for everyone, they believe that productive societies are somehow exploiting the unproductive, and therefore productivity must be restrained to be more “fair” and “sustainable’. Those who seek “sustainable” development will not rest until we all live in the cold and darkness.

The Physics of Global Warming

We are glad to welcome a new author, Norman G. Purves.

He presents an analysis of the science behind global warming. Take a look at his presentation, The Physics of Global Warming: Radiative Equilibrium and the Absorption of Infrared Radiation by Carbon Dioxide.

UN Environment Program

Contrast the AP article UN: World’s Glaciers Melting Faster to the World Climate Report blog entry Snow and Ice Surprises and Antarctica Snowfall Increase.

History shows that climate changes. There is huge variability in climate. Millions of years of life on earth demonstrate how resilient life is to climate change, despite bouts of global warming and global cooling (note the ice ages that have occurred in the past). Life survives and thrives by adapting to its environment. In contrast to other living species, human life thrives by adapting its environment to our survival. Climate change fear-mongers are resistant to adaptation, so perhaps they do have the most to fear, because they do not embrace the very mechanism that facilitates their survival.
