‘Un-American’ attacks can’t derail health care debate

Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Rep Steny Hoyer (D-MD) published the following article today: ‘Un-American’ attacks can’t derail health care debate.

This was not some off the cuff remark. This was a carefully thought out statement intended for serious consideration. The US government now truly believes that the American public is Un-American.

“But even the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office says that none of the health plans pending on Capitol Hill would control long-term spending, and that ones with the elements Obama wants would add around $1 trillion to the deficit over the next 10 years.”

How many of you out there can even begin to comprehend 1 trillion dollars?  Now wait until things have to change to pay for it, and guess who gets taxed?  You do.

What might the world look like if the bailout works? Like Sarah Palin

What might the world look like if the bailout works? Like Sarah Palin | Naomi Klein | Comment is free | The Guardian .

I read this to understand all sides.  I say everything in moderation…What do you think of Naomi Klein?

“Because make no mistake, capitalism will be back. And the same message will return, though there may be someone new selling that message: You don’t need to change. Keep consuming all you want. There’s plenty more. Drill, baby, drill. Maybe there will be some technological fix that will make all our problems disappear.” -Naomi Klein,30/7/2009.

If so, Progressives and Liberals, you are also in trouble.  We need energy answers.  This will come from innovation. And yes, that is going to take some new technology. Innovation+Technology= A change.

Nobody is completely right or wrong.  These generalizations, such as Naomi Klein is making, have to stop and we have to all work together.

Using generalizations to refer to Capitalists or Conservatives is an uneducated view.  Unfair. Shame on you, Ms. Klein.  Not everyone who fits into this group is like you have described in your article.

Being obsessed over Sarah Palin seems juvenile and I know this is “not about Sarah Palin”,  but you are giving Sarah Palin the power, by showing fear towards her.  Are you really just threatened by her? That’s rhetorical.

This is not the change we need to campaign for a better world.  This is not even American.  We can argue all day long, but at the end of the day, there are more than two sides and there is a compromise. Nothing should be all or none.

Motivation comes from the ability to climb that ladder and we have it in America now, if we will teach everyone to use it.  Kick out the criminals and stop the theft, but don’t break America!  There is a reason so many people immigrate here!

Oh, and the bailout will only work to give us higher taxes and more home losses.  Some of us are already living within our means and aren’t greedy First Class passengers…

As for Disaster Capitalism, didn’t Rahm Emanuel say “Never let a serious crisis go to waste. What I mean by that is it’s an opportunity to do things you couldn’t do before.”

That’s not change, that’s hypocrisy. What is different? A crisis so we can spend more money? Trillions…Oh, and we are still at war. Great.

Pajamas TV – InstaVision With Glenn Reynolds – Texas Gov. Rick Perry: Running a State the Right Way – Video

Pajamas TV – InstaVision With Glenn Reynolds – Texas Gov. Rick Perry: Running a State the Right Way – Video.

Coming from a Texan, I don’t understand why we don’t run the rest of the country from a model of Texas.  Few states (with Gov. Perry’s careful guidance-of course) can carry a neighboring state after two major disasters (Katrina and Rita), keep the companies, and generate the revenue that Texas does…

Why fix it when it isn’t broken, which is why Gov. Perry should stay governor.  Kaye Bailey Hutchinson seems nice enough, I have to say, but Rick Perry has given a very personal touch to this state, and we have flourished.  When I travel, it doesn’t take long to get home sick. No matter where I go, Texas is always Home.  I have lived other places, but Texas is the only one I will say with great confidence is a success.  Where else can you live, that you can email or call or write your governor when you are trying to help somebody in trouble and get a personal response back, and also have them take over and help this other person in need.  How many times have I done this?  A few.  It’s a hospital bill for somebody below poverty level or somebody not getting what they need for handicap services.  I could go on all day, but what I do in my spare time involves contacting the state and my state (Rick Perry and his team) contacts me back!

How great is that?  And we have the Castle law and concealed carry. Great liberty in this state, if you earn it.  It isn’t hard.

We love Governor Perry! :)
